The headwaters of the Condamine River begin at a beautiful area of rolling green fields called “The Head”. The Condamine flows into Darling and Murray Rivers, forming Australia’s longest river system. In “the Falls” area surrounding Killarney, there are many walks, easy and more difficult, that lead through forests and glades, to delightful waterfalls. 10 minutes from Killarney, stroll along the Queen Mary Falls circuit to the lookout giving views of Spring Creek as it plunges 40 metres over Queen Mary Falls. Continue along the track to descend from the eucalypt-covered ridge top into the rainforest gorge at the base of the falls. Pause to view the falls from creek level and feel the waterfall’s cool spray. One of the most enjoyable activities at Queen Mary Falls for those is the The daily hand feeding of the king parrots and crimson rosellas can delight young and old.
